Marketers love the idea of certainty. We cling to funnels, journeys, and precision targeting because they make the buying process feel neat, linear, and predictable. The problem? B2B buying is anything but predictable.

That’s why I think the “planetary model” of marketing, the one built on precision, control, and perfect data, is about to collapse under its own weight. The reality looks a lot more like quantum physics: messy, probabilistic, and full of uncertainty.

In this piece, I lay out a new model for marketers - quantum marketing. It’s about thinking in probabilities, not predictions. Broad reach over hyper-targeting. Creative designed for everyone, not just one persona. Always-on activity instead of guessing “the perfect moment.”
